War in the Vale is a record of an online role-playing game using the Pathfinder system.  It is being run by post on the Role-playing Online site.  As a campaign it is semi-sandboxy as the GM doesn’t have a set plot arch that they are running players through.  Instead they are crafting scenes and scenarios primarily from player actions and stated desires.  It is not a true sandbox, however, since the players and the GM are more concerned about a good story than about some sort of world simulation.

We are using the mini-setting from the D&D 4th Edition Dungeon Master’s guide.  Well, let me rephrase that.  We are using the maps and the location / character names from that setting.  Mostly we’re using it because I like the map and the setting is vague enough for use to work with.  The players and the GM have added a lot to the setting and changed a bunch of things as well.
